Most of us grew up with a perception that, when it comes to work, you should focus on one thing and pretty much do it for the rest of your life. Quitting is for losers, you need to finish what you started and all that jazz. Well… right now I am at business №3 and I have no plans to stop anytime soon. Why? Because I am a multi-passionate, serial entrepreneur.

In this post, I want to give you permission to shift your business, to pivot, to change things up. Changing your mind is not a bad thing, it doesn’t mean that you’re not taking your business seriously. It simply means that your passion, your fire is changing and you want to go after it.

The multi-passionate Entrepreneur

One person who knows this better than anybody is Giorgia Guazzarotti. Giorgia is a multi-passionate entrepreneur who, for years, jumped from one business idea to the other trying to monetize every passion she had, but nothing felt right. After years of starting niche businesses and shutting them down when the passion disappeared, she decided to incorporate all her passions into one coaching business. Today, she helps other creative and multi-passionate women create thriving businesses without niching down and overcoming all the old stories and limiting beliefs that keep them stuck and broke.

Throughout her career, Giorgia changed industries and changed businesses. But with each business, the same thing happened — she would be super excited in the beginning, she would believe that she found her dream job, and then after some time, the passion would simply disappear and she would move on to the next thing. Pretty soon, she realized that the problem wasn’t her, it was the whole niche model that was wrong. So, being the multi-passionate entrepreneur she is, Giorgia decided to use her experience and her knowledge to create her coaching business.

Niche down — Start with your values

Giorgia explains that when you decide to niche down, you need to start with your values. You are basically your own niche — the way that you are, your character, your values, that is all a niche within itself. It’s all about creating a personal brand that is unique to you. If you like to write, that doesn’t mean that you can only be a writer. If you like marketing, that doesn’t mean that you can only work as a marketer. There are ways in which you can combine all your interests into one business and not all your passions need to be the service that you actually sell, but it can be part of your business. Your passions are a part of you and as such, they make you stand out and make you different from everybody else. Those are the things that people love about you and that makes people want to work with you.

This is why your core values and your beliefs should be the foundation of your business. When you have that solid foundation, you can then look at your different passions and find a way to fit them in a way that allows you to fulfill your mission and provide your customers with the transformation you promised them.

You don’t look for clients, clients find you

One of my core beliefs is that, when it comes to clients, you don’t go out finding clients. Clients find you because you’re shining your specific light. Lighthouses don’t go running all over an island looking for boats to save, they just stand there shining. Your light can be a kaleidoscope of all of your different passions. It doesn’t need to be one single color. It doesn’t have to have one single frequency. It can be many different things and people will love that. They don’t necessarily need to love every aspect of it, but it might be that just that particular combination in terms of your many passions, works perfectly for the right clients.

What is your passion?

One of the biggest blocks that Giorgia sees in almost all her clients is that they know what they want but they don’t know how to get it. They know what their passions are, but they don’t know how to combine them, because no one teaches us that. All our lives, we’ve been told that we have to niche down and we have that inner voice in our head that is stopping us from trying. But entrepreneurship is all about keeping an open mind, seeing what works and what doesn’t, and sometimes even failing and then trying again.

Because most of Giorgia’s clients come to her confused and overwhelmed, she has put together an amazing free guide that takes you through a process of how to identify and combine your passions into a business and get you clear on your mission you want your business to fulfill. This guide will also help you identify which passions fit best into your business and can help you deliver your services, and which passions are more in the background, supporting your business.
