Scaling the smart way is something that we cannot start talking about early enough because (and I’m sure you’ll agree) we all have big dreams, but at the same time, we do not want to work a lot.

As entrepreneurs, we usually start our business from a place of love and passion, but if we are not careful, pretty soon that same business can become the biggest stressor in our life. We’re putting out fires all the time, we want to be creative but we don’t have the time, we feel like we’ve plateaued in our business, etc. and a lot of the time the reason for all of this is because we think that we’re the only ones who can get the job done.

Building Systems and Outsourcing

This is where outsourcing comes into play. Dean Soto is the Founder and CEO of Pro Sulum, a company that bridges the gap between building systems and outsourcing so you can delegate the right way; they’ll take what you show them, document the whole thing into a step-by-step process, and then they’ll actually do it for you. So, you’ll never have to do that thing ever again!

According to Dean, it comes down to two things:

  1. 99% of what you do — somebody else can do for you.
  2. Everything needs to be documented because it allows the person who’s doing the work to print it out and put it on their desk or have it on another screen.

When it comes to scaling, everything you do is a process, everything is a system. It might seem complicated, but if you master each of the subsystems, the system will run perfectly. For example, I just hired someone to go through all my funnels, through all my analytics, and just tell where the problem is, where it is not converting. Could I do it? Sure. Do I want to know? No, because it’s not my zone of genius.

Start with the things you don’t enjoy

So, when you think about outsourcing in your business, start with the things that you simply don’t enjoy. Figure out which tasks drain you and work your way up. This way, you’ll have enough time to do the work that really matters for your business and that you enjoy so that you can serve more people.
